With it being the third anniversary of Ryan Shtuka’s disappearance this week, I had a brief chat with Heather about whether there was any updates in her son’s case and we chatted about a new initiative she is part of, The Free Bird Project.
For this first interlude episode I interviewed author Jon Billman whose latest book is titled “The Cold Vanish: Seeking the Missing in North America’s Wildlands.” Jon and I talk about the book and theories about why people go missing in the outdoors. I hope you enjoy our conversation.
In this fourth episode I talk to Corporal Jennifer Sparkes, a missing persons investigator from the RCMP, and I continue my talk with editor of Sun Peaks Independent News, Jean Strong, and Heather, about what may have happened to Ryan. This is the last episode (for now) on the disappearance of Ryan Shtuka.
In this third episode I talk to Heather about searching for Ryan, as well as Alan Hobler from SAR Kamloops, and Gerry Tremblay, a volunteer, who helped organize and conduct the search for Ryan.
In this second episode I talk to Jean Strong, the editor of Sun Peaks Independent News, about the town of Sun Peaks, and I continue my conversation with Ryan’s mother Heather Shtuka about Ryan’s time in Sun Peaks before going missing.
